Metallurgical Fire These guys are a standout band in brutal death, and Valley Of The Starving is by far their strongest effort to date. The songs are written in more of an OSDM “freedom” that allows for tempo changes, unpredictable songwriting, and organic production. It’s still brutal, but every song actually sounds different from the others! That’s a rarity in the genre. Highly underrated and one of the best of ‘21. Favorite track: Skinned At Sundown.

The Great vision bestowed upon me. Being beckoned to the life tree. Seeking answers from our fathers. To why we’re being slaughtered. High upon the blackened mountains. Feasting upon the forbidden fruits. Spiritual submerged deep within. A realm far beyond our own. Decimated villages ferociously burn. Illuminating the scene of butchery. Snowfall encased their grim faces. Their suffering is forever preserved. Genocidal visions have cursed me. Engulfed by our impending doom. Our sacred ways die with every coming sun. Extermination or assimilation. Finally awakened from the nightmare. Mounted high in the midst of battle. Artillery claims our warriors and horses. Arrows pierce their chest and skulls. Blood's fragrance intertwines with the winds. Slowly, I was becoming tainted by the darkness. Dipping my hands in the blood of colonizers. Sawing and ripping off patches of flesh. Hundreds of corpses littered the plains. Scalped, mutilated and left faceless. War has infected the blood of my people. Death resides within our villages. Blood of our enemy spoiled the earth's soil. We listen not to the words of our ancestors. Blindly we fall before their immoral lies. We won't be free until the last Indian dies. Despair has engulfed our nations, they are lost and hopeless. I am Black Elk Oglala Lakota.

Sagwitch emerged into the sub-zero temperatures. As he peered into a strange fog. Gathering below the perpetual mountains. Chief realized it was no natural mist. The fog began to move with unnatural speed Swallowing lands around our encampment Breath of the American soldiers visible in the severe cold. My people and I still hoped for peace. It died at the sight of their army. Their massive force blackened out the skies. Ground shook with hundreds of thundering hooves. They don't deliver these words of peace. They will bring upon death and destruction. People flee to the river trying to escape their doom. Not knowing that it would be their tombs. Tin dup dreamt of this treacherous day. He tried to warn us. Chanting Death will come to you Swiftly on the backs of horses. As darkness peered down before us. Infatuated by our reek of despair. The horns of extinction bellowed The waves of death plummet towards us. As fear consumes the hearts of our people. Warriors charge toward the blackness. Within them fear has no home. Arrows plunge into their darkness. Vile beast and their riders die in the snow. Rifle fire illuminated their frozen faces. As bodies explode upon impact. Bodies littered, hundreds lie dying. Forever encased, within the snow. Brave warriors, sacrificed for their people. We were Betrayed. Vultures eat from the dead carcasses. Scalps were collected and prized. Mutilating and slaughtering Their forces pushed forward. Death danced upon this battlefield. Claiming souls rightfully so. Frantically hundreds ran to the river. Without mercy gunned down everything. Man, woman and child. All slaughtered. I've witnessed their evil atrocities. Soldiers tied our women to trees. As they were beaten and raped viciously Their children cried beside them. Until they were killed. I watched soldiers execute all who enter River carried many bodies, families drowned in blood. Shoshone men were beaten and tortured. Ears, nose, lips and head cut off. I saw them gut Little Feet before his mother. Pulled out his entrails and crowned her the queen of the natives. Blood painted the snow as a canvas. Encasing this scene of brutality. Broken bodies littered the ravine. Most are in half. Only a few still whole. As the chief gazed upon this massacre. He knew they would bring upon more death. Soon fire swallowed our encampment whole. Witnessing our demise.

Tribes are pushed into barren wastelands. providing no fertility. Cultivated by death Most are claimed by starvation. Tales of this time were spoken of. A time of great despair. Many lie sick. Our people will be unprepared. No Indian shall be spared. From the east. They'll come for our sacred hills. Destroy the black hills. Reservations will echo with sorrowful cries A cesspool where our spirit shall surely die. Another Village burns throughout the night. Dead bodies fertilize the great plains Eviscerating our resources. Imprisoned by your faulty treaties. Manipulate and deceived. Years of oppression almost withered us away. On the brink of starvation we see another day. This beast is evil and merciless. Nothing we've encountered before. We will show no pity and kill until there's no more. We were forged in the belly of war.

As I am marched through the fortress of despair and death. Praying to the great spirit to protect me. Fearing horrors that lie beyond towering walls. Enormous structure devours our land. I stood before their bloodsoaked gates as they opened. A putrid smell defiles my nostrils. Warriors speak of this evil fortress. A place where men eat the flesh of the sick. Emaciated sea of bodies. Ravaged by sickness and disease. Tattered material hung from these skeletons. Horrified as the sickened army approaches me. Thousands of sunken faces are filled with trepidation. I felt the torment that dwells inside. Their skin crawls with lice and parasites. Draining these men of their Essence. Nesting within the boils Famine ran rapidly amongst the inhabitants. Claiming the souls of thousands a day. Imprisoned within our own filth. Those who drink from the flowing creek. In time they'll meet their doom. They have befouled our drinking water. Polluted with human waste and the dead. As the sun sits high in the sky. Slowly fall before dehydration. Parched lips kiss the hand of death. As their thirst grows. Let my body rest Inside these 26 archers of hell. I shall rot away. With only my story to tell. Rotting flesh is a commodity. Scouring the night for bodies. We’re willing to commit the ultimate sin. Possessed by a deranged sickness. Upon the rotting flesh we dine. Limbs and organs, removed and cooked Bodies are filled with poisonous bile. Are used for the stew. My body lies dead and bloated. Death has finally come. Entombed within 26 archers of hell.

Settlers intruding upon our land. with their Christian ideologies. Desperately trying to manipulate our nations. Cleansing us of our native ways. Convinced this shall cure us. Fabricating their sophisticated ways. Tongues spewing foulest words. Demeaning the Indians as primitive savages. As the midnight fires danced within our huts. Our plan was devised. Amongst our tribe. Fall not for their lies, creatures born of death and destruction. Oblivion devours their souls. Banished to the blackness. Where life doesn't grow. Arrows blacken out the skies. Accompanied by fearful cries. Dreadful panic envelopes their eyes. Ground littered with those who died. Blood has been spilled. For preservation of our nation. Deep within a murderous rage. History shall bear a new page. Massacre brought on by those enslaved. Indians will always remember this day. Mutilated bodies hung from the trees. Sons weep as their fathers are slaughtered. Mothers raped before their daughters. Whooping cries overtaken by agonizing screams Small children were collected. Led into the eternal flames. Cleanse their souls Enchanted by horrendous cries. Bashing skulls until brains poured out. Knives frolicked amongst anxious flesh. Carving, sawing off ears and tongues. Fresh scalps are peeled from their heads Severed genitals crammed into the esophagus. Convulsing as life leaves their eyes. Decapitated heads encased their Distorted fear.

Fleeing toward the blood stained plains. Territory dominated by natives. In no man's land we seek refuge. Among the vile creatures. A body lies along the river bank. Ungodly carnage left in our wake. Feral woman dead face down. Blood oozed out from her cunt and her head. Our atrocities touch the ears of many. Death riders annihilate the uncivilized people. Collecting ornaments of their dead. Ears, scalps and severed heads. Nightmares decimate our dreams. Vicious mutilations. Unforeseen. Souls punished for being unclean. Eternally haunted by a symphony of screams. Awaken to the feeling of helplessness. Weary eyes scour abysmal darkness. Paranoia seeps into my consciousness. Unaware of their evilness. Our company was killed on sight. Throats slit in the midst of fright. Scalped and mutilated in the silence of the night. Blood glistened in the hazy moonlight. Wolf head man ghostly materialized. Whispering the coward’s prayer. Vengeance rested on their breath. Death will not come so easily. I shall pass through shadows of death. Blades penetrate the flesh. Nerves explode as the skin is pulled. Grinding teeth meet the sawing motion. Fresh blood begins to pool. Limbs dangle skinless as my bowels spill out. I hung there begging for death to come. Chanting grew as I’m freed of flesh. Flies now began to feed and nest Eaten alive by the starving wolves. Wallowing pain. Skinned at sundown.

Darkness echoes with horrific cries. Hurdle in fear as another one dies. Driven by their urge to feed and breed. Every sixth winter they hunt. At dawn it shall be revealed. Another horrific murderous tale They detailed horrendous acts Ruthless creatures stray far from god. Bodies discovered horrifically dismembered. Reports flourish of gruesome attacks. Blood washes through the town. Bodies are skinned and hung upside down. Gazing at death with disparity. Expecting an ounce of humanity. Oh lord, shower mercy unto thee. You cannot hunt what you cannot see. Shepherd the slaughter of abominations. Blessed our tools for mass extermination. With your spirit at our stride We shall commit holy genocide. Upon their vicious attacks. Women ripped from their beds. Wooden stakes sharpened. Driven deep into the eyes Our helpless women. Violently raped and used for mass breeding. Father: What have we done to deserve this? Tortured by things we’ve witnessed. Children eaten alive in their slumber. Dismembered bodies now I encumber. Deaf to our cries, you've made that clear. Thousands parish and unknowingly disappear. Welcome to the valley of the starving. The evil dwells here. Finally, we stood before the entrance of hell. Decapitated heads drape over spears. Embarking further into darkness. A godless palace of death. Bone blades butcher bodies. Deformed hands rip limbs from the torso. Then disappear like a ghost in the night. Once I saw his blood stained face. Arrows puncture and break bones. In a crazy fit of rage. They dismantle men of their flesh. They dismantle human flesh. Gutted and beaten I lay paralyzed Eyes transfixed on watching. Them slowly eating me alive. In the valley of the starving men. Our blood painted their skin. Axes and clubs demolish the skulls. Victims of the troglodytes.

Retreating from the clutches of certain death. Enslaved by chains of war. Conquer with acts of barbaric brutality. I once was many. Now I am one. Tribe lies dead, rotting under the sun. Darkness lurks beyond the horizon. Alone I ride; into Oblivion. My vision blanketed by snowfall. Accompanied by screeching winds. Unfamiliar voices sung from the darkest parts. Beckoning the wickedness that dwells within. Glowing orbs dance beneath the moonlight. Shepherds of darkness Enchanting the night with guttural cries. Vile creatures. Hunger stricken wolves; consume flesh of their own. Cursed to serve a malevolent beast. Before me stood the beast of great legend. Crowned with antlers Embodiment of terror. Bones protrude all along a withered frame. Greyish sunken skin stretched to meet jagged claws Blood glistened around his mouth. Cries of heartless victims bleed through Endless rows of teeth. Rage enveloped the creature's abysmal eyes. It's jagged claws plunged deep into my tissue. Sharpened teeth tore through the nape of my neck. The poison engulfed. Chewing and swallowing chunks of flesh. As I slipped into the arms of death Possessed by an insatiable hunger. Symphony of screams filled the emptiness Feeding from the throat of our chief. Committing atrocities I did not know. Curse of the wendigo.

Tatanka Ska 04:11
Within the abyssal caverns beyond the stillness. There is a kingdom. Built on skeletal remains. Upon the mountains. Great fortress stirs. The beast awoke, it’s hunger grows. Stories speak of the beast devouring armies. Collapsing mountains with a single bellow. Trepidation eats away. At the hearts of all. Cursed to watch Their Indian empire fall. Villages in ruins. Trampled bodies lie. For he is our Death. And Death is among us. Upon the blood red moon worm had appeared. His people lie dead before him. Destruction and chaos enveloped his world. Ashes of his existence began to rain down. Hatred for the beast Boiled deep in his veins. Fueled with anger driving him insane. He beckoned for the beast Emerging from charred remains. Chunks of rotting flesh Drape from its horns. Oh great father. Hear the words that I speak. Your guidance is what I seek. Before long, Indians will be deceased. Our once strong nation Now cowers before this vile creature. They'd rather die of starvation. And kiss the lips of extinction. Our gaze was disrupted By a screaming crow warrior. Bound to bring forth it’s total annihilation. Freeing his people of damnation. Overhead he dropped from the cliffs. Efforts were no match. For the beast's aggression. Now victim to immolation. Falling dead of decapitation Voices echo throughout decaying trees. As condemned sing their deathly hymns. Wolves lie hidden within their caves. Fearing the black hills butcher For years, it would pillage and consume. Countless war parties fall before doom. Their bodies lie in the kingdom, forever entombed. Fear envelopes fibers of my being. I've witnessed horrors that can't be unseen. The white ghost haunts me in dreams Provoking and endlessly torturing me. Frantically I am scouring the darkness. For the ghost that haunts me. Lurking within the shadows Slowly stalking me. Massive beast bursted in from the darkness. Worm stood patiently. Awaiting his final move. The flint spear is gripped tightly. As he collided with the behemoth. Worm lives on only in folktales. His name will forever be bestowed. As the one who almost killed the white buffalo.
